These are exciting times for Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The Italian will soon make his debut in Formula 1 on behalf of Mercedes. He will do so with a driving licence, as during the winter break the newly eighteen-year-old managed to obtain the 'coveted gem.'

Antonelli should be used to it, but he was extremely nervous about his exam. "First of all, because I knew I had only that shot to make it. So I was trying to study as much as possible. And yeah, it went well," the Italian laughed in front of Sky Sports' camera.

Antonelli not faultless during exam

Probably an F1 driver is expected to be faultless during his exam. Antonelli just failed to do that. "I made only one mistake while on the theory one [the exam, ed.]," said the driver, before going into the driving test on public roads. "On the driving one, I respect the speed limit."

"I was trying to respect all the rules. I was very tense because I wasn't feeling super comfortable, because I wasn't on track, first of all. And, it was one of my first times on the road. So I was quite nervous, but it went pretty well. So super happy to have got the license," concluded George Russell's future teammate.
