Lewis Hamilton's first weeks with Ferrari took the Formula One world by storm. The blockbuster transfer that was announced ahead of 2024 season has now been completed, as the seven-time world champion. Still, after spending more than a decade with Mercedes, Hamilton is gifting Mercedes a series of artwork, honouring the time they spent together.
At the moment, Hamilton is already busy driving for Ferrari. After a debut run in Fiorano, and a two-day TPC event in Barcelona a week ago, the Briton is once again in action this Tuesday and Wednesday, completing a Pirelli tyre test at the track near the town of Montmelo.
Joel Clark was one of the artists contacted to create an artwork for Mercedes as a gift by the seven-time world champion. He created a hand-cut vinyl, and shared it on his social media. The vinyl portrays Hamilton's win at the 2021 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, as he holds the Brazilian flag up in the air on his victory lap. The piece received the name "An Ode to Senna".
"Lewis wanted to celebrate his greatest moments with the team, and my brief was capture his victory at the ‘21 Brazilian GP. Needless to say, the honour and pride is simply off-the-scale," the artist wrote on X.

Clark also shared that "five or six other artworks" will be gifted in total. One of the other artists contacted was Paul Oz, who also shared his painting on Instagram, before the post was deleted. That gift commissioned by the driver portrays him winning the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix in the Mercedes W10, days after three-time world champion Niki Lauda passed away. Oz explained that Hamilton wanted the painting to focus on the car, and that 3000 Brackley factory employees received prints of it. The original painting will also be present in Brackley.
