For Lewis Hamilton, the ultimate goal is to achieve his record-breaking eight world title with Ferrari. To once again be the best in the world, the Briton will in any case have quite a challenge ahead of him with Charles Leclerc sitting in the Ferrari alongside him. According to Guenther Steiner, it is good that Hamilton has a teammate who can push him to the limit.

'Hamilton and Leclerc strengthen each other'

"If you're a good driver at that level, you want the best driver as your teammate because that pushes you as well because you can," Steiner began to GPblog in an exclusive interview.

So Hamilton and Leclerc together at Ferrari is beneficial for both drivers, believes the former Haas F1 team principal. "Charles can learn the racing skills of Lewis. How to do things, how to manage it. Lewis can learn from Charles the whole speed because Charles is very good over one lap."

"You get a set of data from a very fast guy, it helps you a lot. If you've got a slow teammate, his setup will be different, everything will be different. If you've got a fast teammate, you just can get better and then what Lewis has got on his side is his experience of Formula One. He makes very few mistakes, and if he makes them, he always has got his hand up hey, f*cked up," Steiner argues.

In recent seasons with Mercedes, Hamilton did not always seem to be comfortable, especially on days when his car was not competitive enough. Steiner found that completely understandable, the Italian concluded. "That's most of the drivers at that level, especially with Lewis, who won seven championships. You cannot be happy to score points."
