A strange crash took place at FP2 of the Saudi Arabia ePrix. Nyck de Vries made contact with Stoffel Vandoorne in the practice session, causing a red flag as well. See the incident below!

Crash for De Vries and Vandoorne

The two former F1 drivers made contact in FP2. De Vries intended to pass his former Mercedes' Formula E teammate, Vandoorne, into Turn 4, but the two collided instead, leading to a red flag.

Qualifying will start in roughly an hour's time, therefore, plenty of work awaits Mahindra Racing to repaire the Dutchman's car. The same goes for the Maserati team, although it looked like Vandoorne's car was not as much damaged.

Over the first two weekends of the season, De Vries has so far managed to score 12 points in Formula E, and he is currently in P9 in the drivers' standings. Former McLaren driver Vandoorne is in P12. The red flag was also waved one more time. It was caused by Robin Frijns, as his Envision Racing car stalled and had to be restarted.

This weekend, the Formula E season continues with two ePrix in Jeddah, and the introduction of the 'pit boost'. In FP2, Porsche's Antonio Felix da Costa set the fastest lap time. The Portuguese driver also leads the drivers' standings in the competition at the moment, having finished twice in second place in Brazil and Mexico City.
