Former F1 driver and Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle expects an exciting 2025 season. The Briton saw Lando Norris improve the last season, and think he also could be a worthy challenger. While also praising Max Verstappen, Brundle believes many can aim regularly for winning Grands Prix this year.
Brundle on a Verstappen-Norris rematch
In the 2024 season, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen locked horns on multiple occasions. In the end, it was Verstappen who could get the better of his rival, and he won his fourth title in a row at the Las Vegas GP. On the other hand, Norris could bring home the constructors' title for McLaren with his victory in Abu Dhabi.
"I think Lando knows how to lead from the front now. I think he probably believes he can win a world championship. He'll have to get his elbows out and get some razor blades on those elbows in some wheel-to-wheel combat with Max," Brundle began rating Norris.
He then also praised Verstappen as well: "That's clear as everybody has to. That's how Max goes racing. He's tough and that's why he's won the last four world championships. But yeah, I think I have no doubt, but this is going to be a super tight year. It's going to be, I think, incredibly competitive. The regulations are very mature."
Still, the pundit sees that the 2025 season will be especially tight for several reasons. "There's nowhere to go much with the cars. They'll all tweak them here and there. But with this massive change coming for 2026, so quite soon, the teams will want to put their budget, their resource, their people, their manpower into the 2026 car. So I think they're going to start pretty level. We've got five or six new rookies on the grid. I think the top four teams will be uber competitive and may, may the best driver win," he concluded.
