Russell reacts again to Verstappen feud: 'I won't take that anymore'
Emotions ran pretty high between George Russell and Max Verstappen at the end of last season. The Briton thought Verstappen was not racing fairly, while the Dutchman thought his Mercedes colleague was overly dramatic. In London, ahead of the F1 75 event, Russell looked back on the controversial 'feud' in the media.
There has been no further contact with Verstappen, Russell tells GPblog and the rest of the media present in London. "No, I haven't spoken [to him]. No concerns about him or his driving or anything. That happened last year and I want to focus on myself."
Russell wants to look ahead
Russell then reaffirms his position on the mater. "Obviously, [there were] things I felt were out of line at the end of last year and made it pretty clear that I'm not gonna take it. But now it's 2025 and I'm focused on the job and the job is to win. So, I'm not going to change my approach."
To win, as Russell himself pinpoints to be his expectation, he first needs to beat Verstappen. "Fighting him, fighting any other drivers. The goal is the same and, I guess we'll see when we get to Melbourne."
