Will Norris get immediate support from McLaren in 2025? Brown responds!
F1 News

McLaren was criticised in the 2024 Formula 1 season for long refusing to bet everything on Lando Norris in his title battle with Max Verstappen. Will the F1 team from Woking take a different approach this year? Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, answers.
Brown: 'We treat our drivers equally'
Last year, McLaren chose relatively late to give Norris full support in his battle with Verstappen. Asked if the British racing stable intends to take a different approach in the coming season, Brown replied in the negative. "We always treat our drivers fairly, and that is exactly what we are going to do," he said in an interview with selected media, including GPblog.
"You know, we always treat our drivers equitably, fairly. And that's exactly what we'll do. They're both starting the season on the same amount of points. So, we will continue to let them race. Of course, we learn every race. Whether that's how we work with our drivers, how we set our strategy, how we set up the car. So, I think you're continuously improving and learning from things that last year maybe would have done a little bit differently," the 53-year-old American continued.
So neither driver will get preferential treatment - at least in the early stages of the season. "But at a high level, they're free to race each other. We've got two great racing drivers. I'm excited to see them take on the field and race each other cleanly," Brown concluded.#
