Red Bull Racing junior driver Arvid Lindblad has topped the timesheet on the first day of Formula 2 preseason testing. The Campos driver set a lap time of 1:24.415, keeping Prema driver Gabriele Mini and Invicta Racing driver Leonardo Fornaroli behind him.

Taking place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this week, Formula 2 is completing its preseason testing.

The morning session had a rough start, with 45 minutes delayed due to fog on the track. After the session started, the drivers were barely able to complete warm-up laps before being flagged after a Rodin driver, Alex Dunne, crashed. Luckily, the interruption did not last long, and the drivers were able to start up again. However, it was a while before an actual lap time was set. Halfway through the session, Max Esterson, who drove with Trident, was able to set a lap time of 1:29.252. In the end, however, Victor Martins set the fastest lap time at 1:25.760.

In the afternoon session, things started off more smoothly, with an immediate start to the session where Lindblad quickly topped the charts. However, there were two red flags during the afternoon session as more cars went off the tracks. Despite this, both Campos drivers were able to climb the charts. Unfortunately, another red flag came out with only 15 minutes left. The afternoon session was topped by Lindblad, who completed 37 laps.
