Aston Martin shares first photo of Newey: 'Welcome to the team!'

Adrian Newey has finally started at Aston Martin after leaving his former team, Red Bull Racing. While Newey officially started on Monday 3 March, the team shared their first photo on Thursday 6 March. The image shows Newey standing inside the Silverstone factory.
Newey finally working for Aston Martin
After his gardening leave, Newey officially begun his tenure at the Aston Martin Formula 1 team. At the beginning of last year's season, the designer guru was still hard at work for Red Bull Racing. However, on 1 May it was announced that he would be leaving the Austrian team. Thus, after almost 20 years of service, Newey's spell at Red Bull had come to an end.
Coincidentally, since the Miami Grand Prix, the weekend during which Newey's exit from Red Bull was announced, the Austrian team faced increasing challenges due to balance and behaviour issues with the RB20, which in turn allowed the other teams to gradually catch up to Red Bull, and in the case of McLaren and Ferrari, eventually surpass them. After the season had ended, Newey mentioned that he had raised concerns regarding the car's potential woes while at Red Bull but that the team's leadership did not seem to share them.
Meanwhile, over at Aston Martin, the team continues to grow their staff. Newey is not the only new team member to join. In fact, Aston Martin has Enrico Cardile waiting in the wings, who due to Ferrari's imposition of the full 12-month period gardening leave, will only be able to join the British racing green team as of 18 July.
