Checo Perez' successor is waiting in the wings: "Sooner than later in F1"
Interview

With Sergio Perez being ousted from Red Bull Racing, and Franco Colapinto's stint at Williams Racing comins to an end, there is now a shortage of Latin American drivers on the grid. Something Formula 3 junior, Santiago Ramos, is looking to change.
Ramos, Perez' countryman, shows a professional and serious side, giving the journalists present but a glimpse of his technical insight. However, a crack in the armor appears when he hears the name of his home country. Ramos then smiles and greets the question with hope and optimism.
'Going to be a great year with Van Amersfoort'
Not an easy one, for sure. The Mexican youngster is about to set off in what is a defining moment in the career of all junior drivers, a potential make-or-break second season in F3. How does he face it? ''I'm really, really trying to push myself on the limit in every aspect I can because I know it's a big opportunity,'' replies the Mexican talent to a question by GPblog.
Ramos will drive in 2025 for the Dutch Van Amersfoort team, an opportunity the young mexican talent values greatly. ''I fought a lot to get this opportunity this year. So I know how to make it work. And I'm sure with the expertise and knowledge from everyone at Van Amersfoort, also with the year of experience I already had last year, I'm sure it's going to be a great year.''
'Sooner than later in F1'
A great year is just what Ramos needs to stay on track and continue onward toward the dream. ''Hopefully like you said, we can get to F2 next year and then sooner than later [be] in F1.''
