Max Verstappen enthusiastic ahead of Australia GP

Enthusiastic Verstappen ready for Australia: 'Work to be done though'

11 March at 11:59

Max Verstappen is looking forward to getting the 2025 season started in Australia this weekend. The Red Bull Racing driver knows there is still work to be done for him and his team, but above all he is looking forward to the first race of the championship.

''It is great to be getting back to racing again and officially starting the season. It is good to see the first race of the season starting up in Melbourne; I drove my Formula One debut race here, so there are a lot memories and we always see the passionate fans come out here to support,'' Verstappen begins in Red Bull Racing's press release.

''In Bahrain, we learnt a lot from Testing but there is still a lot more work to be done. We have ideas about what we can do and how we can take on what we learnt at Testing, so we will see how we go when we start driving on the track.''

Verstappen has concerns about Red Bull

''We have been analysing the data and working on where we can make improvements and can work to optimise things further. We are ready to get started up again and I am excited to get the season underway,'' concluded Verstappen.

That there are concerns about how competitive Red Bull Racing is, was again evidenced by Jos Verstappen's words, who reiterated that his osn was dissatisfied with the RB21 after winter testing and that the feeling of the car in particular, faded away progressively as the test went on. Jos then wondered aloud whether Red Bull even understood the problems.

The 2025 Formula 1 season starts next weekend with the Australian Grand Prix. For European viewers, that means early rising. For instance, qualifying will be held at 05:00 UK time, and the race as early as 04:00.
