McLaren driver Oscar Piastri is having an incredibly exciting week with his home race this weekend kicking the new Formula 1 season off in Australia and the recent announcement that he has extended his contract with his team. Piastri took to social media to share his emotions.
Piastri has secured his future at McLaren for many years to come, as the team have announced a multi-year contract extension for their Australian driver.
2025 will be Piastri's third year competing in Formula 1 and having helped his team secure the Constructors' Championship last season, expectations from the team and fans alike will surely be high.
Before the season starts this weekend at his home race in Australia, Piastri has shared a heartwarming message on social media thanking his fans for their support.
'One very happy Aussie'
Piastri shared, "I just wanted to say thanks for all the nice messages and comments that I’ve had since we announced the very exciting news today. Thank you very much for all of that. I’m super excited to continue with the team for many, many years to come and I can’t wait to get the season started now this weekend. Thanks again for all the support and all the nice messages, I’m looking forward to plenty more of those in the future. Let’s get the season started."
