Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali's contract has been extended by as many as five years, which will keep him in his current position until the end of 2029. Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri shared their thoughts on the recent news.

According to George Russell, Stefano Domenicali is a person the drivers admire, although the Briton cannot speak for all his fellow athletes, he admits. However, four-time world champion, Verstappen, and McLaren's recent contract extension recipient, do agree with the Mercedes driver.

Verstappen and Piastri on appreciated & 'approachable' Domenicali

"It's great for Formula 1. He's first of all a great person as well. I got along very well with Stefano as well, so I'm very happy that you know he's staying around for a longer period of time," said the reigning Formula One world champion.

Piastri, one of the challengers for the world championship it seems, totally agrees with Verstappen. "I think what he’s been able to help with the sport has been very appreciated. His door is always open to us as drivers. And again very easy to talk to, very receptive of our ideas and concerns if we have any. So, very happy that he's sticking around for a long time," the Australian concludes.
