A bizarre incident has just taken place in the Formula 3 qualifying session in Melbourne. The Van Amersfoort Racing team sent French driver Théophile Naël onto the circuit whilst a huge cooler was still inserted into the car. Despite the crazy moment, Naël still managed to qualify in third place in his maiden F3 weekend.

F3 qualifying took place directly after F1 qualifying. The pole was set by Brazilian star and Ferrari academy driver Rafael Camara with the Trident team. Second place was taken by his teammate Noah Stromsted, and third-placed Naël was unable to have another crack at improving his time after his team's mistake.

The Formula 3 sprint race can be watched on Saturday just past midnight, at 00:15 GMT. At 22:00 GMT on Saturday night, you can then tune in for the feature race.
