Lando Norris triumphed last weekend at a wet and wild Australian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen finished just behind in second place, With Mercedes' George Russell joining the podium in third.
This weekend, no rain is expected and conditions have been very different to those of Melbourne. Therefore, we may see a better representation of the pecking order early on in the 2025 season.
It's another early start for European fans, and as it's a sprint weekend, the format is different. Qualifying for the Grand Prix begins at 07:00 GMT. Like Saturday's final session, Sunday's Grand Prix also begins at 07:00 GMT.
In a year that is set to be one of the closest in F1 history, every point counts as the season progresses. Lewis Hamilton will take confidence out of a positive sprint race qualifying before heading into qualifying for the Grand Prix. The Brit broke the lap record for the Shanghai International Circuit earlier this weekend in the sprint qualifying session.
Last season, a sprint also took place in China. In 2024, Max Verstappen won both the sprint race and Grand Prix. Although Lando Norris secured a sprint pole, he slid off the slippery circuit at the first corner, conceding a few positions. McLaren is widely regarded as the fastest team on the grid at this early point in the season, but it remains very tight at the top end of the grid. In the midfield, too, teams will be scrapping for positions with just a matter of milliseconds between them.
