Hamilton silences 'yappers' as he takes 1st win with Ferrari over Piastri and Verstappen
Lewis Hamilton has won his first race in Ferrari red in only his second outing for the Italian team. After he did so he remembered the 'yappers and critics' who doubted his move to the Scuderia.
Hamilton's authoritative win at the Shanghai International Circuit came after a troubled first round of the season in Australia, and shed light on the difficulties and the time it takes for drivers to settle into a new team. "I woke up feeling great today. The first race [in Australia] was difficult. I really do feel a lot of people underestimated the steep climb it is to get into a new team, become acclimatised within the team, understanding and communication - all sorts of things."
Hamilton silences 'yappers and critics'
"The amount of critics and people I heard, yapping along the way, clearly not understanding maybe because they never had the experience or were unaware," the seven-time world champion said.
"It felt great to come here and be more comfortable in the car because in Melbourne I didn't feel great in the car. From Lap 1 this weekend we have been on it. The engineers and mechanics have done a great job to finetune the car and it felt great," added Hamilton complimenting his team.
"It's hard to look after the tyres but everyone was struggling," concluded the Briton.
