After a difficult debut in Melbourne with Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton immediately bounced back in China. After topping Sprint Qualifying, he also won the Sprint as well. Does the Briton now expect to be in the quest for the title as a result?

Hamilton does not want to get carried away after his Sprint victory, especially given that in Australia, he only collected a single point. "Look, we’ve just come from a race where we finished 10th. So there are so many factors to really take into account. So I guess we just can't get ahead of ourselves off that one result," Hamilton said.

The Briton was happy with the SF-25 today, however, also pointed to the gap between the teams. "The car felt good today. And yes, managed to finish ahead of a McLaren and a Red Bull. But that doesn't necessarily mean... Look at qualifying, it’s very, very close. So not making the mistakes is going to be key."

For now, Hamilton would like to see more consistency. "But I think we seem to be there or thereabouts this weekend, which is really good. I hope that that continues. But again, from track to track, we'll have to wait and see."

Now, the seven-time world champion hopes to execute the rest of the weekend as well. "We saw last week we didn't have that. So I'm hoping that, there's a lot of learnings from last week that we applied already to this week and the car has been in a much better place. So I hope that we can keep it there. And if we can, then yes, that makes me happy," Hamilton said.
