Lewis Hamilton says he needs to work on his starts
Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he still needs to practise his starts. The British World Champion has notoriously struggled throughout his career to get the cleanest start off the line. It is something that he has been practising but he is still not happy with and often loses places at the beginning of races.
It is encouraging that multiple world championship drivers can still improve and that Hamilton has targetted this as a weakness.
"I can’t express how hard I’ve been working on my starts and it really wasn’t good," Hamilton said to F1i.com after last weekend's race.
"I’m just going to keep working at it. Basically, you stumble, fall, get back up. Just keep pushing.
"Fortunately I was still in the mix and got past Valtteri which I was happy with that manoeuvre, and had that battle with Sebastian which was awesome."
Hamilton will hope that more practice will mean that he can get better at his starts as it is an area that he could improve.
