Horner wants Verstappen "to go for revenge" in Monaco

Cristian Horner believes Max Verstappen can continue his impressive start to the season at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, saying the Dutchman “can go for revenge” in the Principality.

Verstappen has achieved two podiums so far, in Australia and China as well as never being beaten by both Ferrari drivers this season. Last season the Dutchman crashed during FP3 meaning he started from the back of the grid. He managed to fight his way through the field to finish a respectable P9 but Christian Horner expects him to bounce back this weekend.

"We have always done very well in Monaco and Max can go there for revenge," Horner told Sky Sports.

Despite being confident that Verstappen can pull off a good result he still expects Mercedes to be ahead of the rest of the field. The Silver Arrows have been one and two at every race so far.

“They are very strong this year. In Barcelona, they were very fast in the third sector, with many slow turns.

“We hope we can make it difficult for the Mercedes.”
