Vettel: We tried some things, but they didn't really work

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has admitted the Maranello side tried some things, but also conceded "they didn't really work", as Mercedes dominated the timesheets yet again.
Lewis Hamilton topped both the FP1 and FP2 standings for Mercedes, as the reigning champions continue to pull away from a rather helpless Ferrari.
Vettel ended FP2 in third-place, behind Hamilton and his team-mate Valtteri Bottas, with the German a huge 0.763s off the Brit at the top of the grid.
The Italian team endured a painful Spanish Grand Prix last time out, and they admitted back then that its SF90 has been a disappointment. Vettel has acknowledged that not much has changed in two weeks.
"We tried a lot of things, they didn't really work so it was not that productive," the German said. "Overall, we are struggling a bit, obviously lacking a bit of pace compared to Mercedes, struggling a bit to get the tyres to really work, so a bit of work ahead of us.
"It's a bit of everything, so not exactly what you'd like around here. You'd like to know what the car is going to do so you can anticipate a bit more. But I'm sure come Saturday, things should calm down. Maybe it's a bit warmer as well, it could help us."
