Vettel still very close with the Red Bull team
Christian Horner has revealed, that Sebastian Vettel is still very close with many of the team in the Red Bull garage admitting the German was pleased for the team following their win in Austria. Max Verstappen won a thrilling race to halt Mercedes' dominance.
Vettel drove for Red Bull between 2009 and 2014 and was runner up in the World Championship in his first season. He would go on to win four consecutive titles between 2010 and 2013, becoming the youngest ever World Champion in the process. In 2015 he joined Ferrari and has been there ever since but is yet to win a title.
Despite now racing for the Scuderia, Christian Horner revealed that Vettel was pleased for Red Bull following their first win of the season and went into detail on the relationship they have with the German.
"We have great memories of Sebastian's time with us," Red Bull team boss Horner told Servus TV.
"He is part of our history. He won four titles and many, many races together with us, including Red Bull's first win in Formula 1. We have a special relationship with Sebastian.
"Although he is now with Ferrari, he still comes to see the mechanics very often, he knows most of the faces here and is still a friend of the team.
"He was very happy for us at the Red Bull Ring."
