Verstappen in amazement with German GP victory: "It was amazing"
Max Verstappen has won a dramatic German Grand Prix. The Dutchman pitted five times and had to survive numerous safety car restarts before cruising to victory in the final five laps.
"It was amazing in the end, but it was really tricky to make the right calls and to remain focused throughout. We pitted onto the slick tyre early and I enjoyed a nice 360 spin," Verstappen said.
Verstappen, who started the race in second, spent most of the race in the lead. He has now delivered Honda's second race win since their return but was also part of a double podium for the Japanese manufacturer as Daniil Kvyat came third. Verstappen managed the conditions well: "You learn over the years, I was very happy with the whole performance today," Verstappen added.
