The Hungarian Grand Prix is the final race before the Summer break and after the excitement of the German Grand Prix, we will all be hoping for another thriller. The circuit requires a high amount of downforce and is always very hard on the tyres. Here's a preview of what we can expect from the weekend.

Last year

In 2018 Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel coming in second with Kimi Raikkonen finishing off the podium in third. Hamilton qualified on pole with Valtteri Bottas in second who ended up finishing the race in 5th.

Predictions

The track is thought to favour Red Bull and Max Verstappen could pick up his second win in a row. The Dutchman is only 22 points behind Bottas and will hope to reduce that even further before the summer break.

Mercedes will be desperate to bounce back after a disappointing home Grand Prix in Germany but will be looking at the weather forecast hoping for cool weather. The Silver Arrows have had issues with overheating and will want a cool race so that they can really push the limit.

Ferrari are still to win a race this season so will be hoping that their luck will change before the summer break. Sebastian Vettel showed his skill last weekend by coming from last place to finishing second. Ferrari will hope for this same pace and for success in Budapest.
