Vettel deems Binotto's calmness as "most important achievement"
Sebastian Vettel hasn't won a single race in almost 12 months. The 2018 Belgian Grand Prix was the last time the German stood on the top step of a Formula 1 podium. Kimi Raikkonen managed to clinch one more race win for Ferrari at the F1 race in America at the end of last season.
In the winter, Mattia Binotto was moved in to replace Maurizio Arrivabene as the team boss. During his time at the helm, things haven't improved for Ferrari. If anything, they're further away from the Formula 1 world championship leaders Mercedes. The Italian team haven't won a race in 2019.
But Vettel has some praise for Binotto. While things haven't improved under his guidance, Vettel praises Binotto's calmness and deems it as the "most important achievement" from the new team boss.
"It's not fair to compare people with each other. Every situation and every year is different. His most important achievement is that he keeps calm in these difficult times," Vettel said about Binotto on Thursday.
"The situation is not easy for him, we have not won a race yet. But Mattia ensures that the focus remains the same throughout the team. Thanks to him, everyone is determined to make progress as quickly as possible. He stays calm under all circumstances and keeps everyone in line," Vettel is quoted by nu.nl
