Horner on Gasly's critics: "People don't know what they're talking about"
Christian Horner doesn't understand why Pierre Gasly picks up the amount of criticism that he gets. The Red Bull team boss says if you've never driven a Formula 1 car, you actually have no right to comment on the Frenchman's performance.
Gasly has scored just 55 points during the 2019 F1 season, which is just seven more points than 'best of the rest' Carlos Sainz. Meanwhile, his Red Bull teammate sits behind only Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in the Formula 1 world championship.
Gasly has been given criticism for his performances, with many stating that he's not good enough for a Red Bull drive. This has put extra pressure on Gasly, and Jack Plooij from Ziggo Sport Formula 1 Café asked how Gasly deals with this.
"He handles it pretty well. It is difficult to sit next to Max, but he often shows a few brilliant things. We want both cars to score because we want to beat Ferrari. You never raced, so why judge? Many people don't know what they are talking about in that regard," the team boss said.
