Verstappen reacts to Albon replacing Gasly at Red Bull
Max Verstappen has been giving his thoughts on his new teammate, Alex Albon and he admitted it doesn't bother him who his partner is. Albon joined Red Bull from Toro Rosso on Monday.
The Thai driver will partner Max Verstappen for the first time at the Belgian Grand Prix as Red Bull search for the Dutchman's teammate for the 2020 season. Verstappen's former teammate Pierre Gasly has had a tough season and paid the price for his mixed form as he dropped down to Toro Rosso.
Gasly had been expected to keep his seat until the end of the season and Christian Horner even confirmed this but it now appears they have backtracked.
Verstappen knows both drivers from their karting days and isn't too bothered as to drives alongside him. He has been reacting to the news and admitted it was disappointing for Gasly but insisted he didn't care who his teammate was.
"Of course, it is a pity for Pierre, but I personally don't care much who my teammate is," Verstappen told the Telegraaf.
"The point is that we perform better with the other car and thereby gain more points for the team."
