Helmut Marko admits Red Bull "may start losing ground"
Red Bull's Helmut Marko admits that his team may be falling behind in the development race following Ferrari's resurgence since the summer break.
Max Verstappen was superb in the races preceding the break, winning two and going close in Hungary, but since the break it's not been plain sailing, as a crash in Belgium and grid penalties in Italy restricted his success.
The Dutchman was expected to challenge for pole on Saturday in Singapore, but could only manage fifth, behind both Ferraris.
Marko told Auto Motor und Sport: “We may start losing ground in terms of development. Ferrari was amazingly fast, while we were amazingly slow.
"If Ferrari is also so fast in the race, then I no longer understand this world."
Marko also dismissed that the pace difference was due to Ferrari's prowess on the straights, adding: "We only lost three tenths compared to Ferrari on the straight."
