Nico Rosberg believes Red Bull should sign Nico Hulkenberg amid Renault departure

Nico Rosberg wants Red Bull Racing to sign his German compatriot Nico Hulkenberg, with the driver leaving Renault at the end of the season following the French team signing Esteban Ocon.
Hulkenberg looks set to leave Formula 1 with not many seats available. Williams have confirmed they haven't even spoken to Hulkenberg about Robert Kubica's seat, with the Polish driver stepping down from F1 at the end of the season.
Haas looked the most likely destination for the German driver, but they have recently confirmed the same driver line-up of Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean for the 2020 season.
"The chances for Nico disappearing really fast is on the horizon, but he still looks so confident," Rosberg said in his latest YouTube video. "That is strange, because I really don't know where to go. Alfa Romeo could only be to replace Antonio Giovinazzi, but he is Italian, supported by Ferrari and is doing quite well lately.
"Williams should always take him, but I don't know if they can handle it financially. I really hope he stays in Formula 1."
Rosberg believes Red Bull should take a punt on Hulkenberg. Pierre Gasly started the season at the Milton Keynes-based squad, but failed to impress and was axed for Alex Albon, who has until the end of the season to prove his ability to Red Bull.
"Red Bull has a real problem, because Albon is making another mistake," Rosberg added. "Gasly now has the best papers with his good performance, but that is not great either. Hulkenberg would really be great for Red Bull. Now they still say no, but why wouldn't Red Bull just take Hulkenberg?"
