Ricciardo hopes Renault can keep pressure on McLaren

Renault is 34 points behind McLaren in the battle for fourth and Daniel Ricciardo wants to heap the pressure on McLaren by outscoring them this weekend in Mexico. The Australian secured a positive finish in Japan coming through in 6th, just behind McLaren's Carlos Sainz who is enjoying a strong season.
McLaren collected one point more than Renault in Japan despite both Renault drivers being in the points.
"That is to be better and score more points than McLaren, so that we keep the pressure on them, " Ricciardo said as quoted by formule1.
Toro Rosso is just 18 behind McLaren are waiting in the wings if the French team get caught up in any problems in the coming races.
Ricciardo failed to finish in Mexico last season while at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, current teammate Nico Hulkenberg performed strongly, however, coming through in sixth.
