Hamilton will do anything he can to break Schumacher's record
Lewis Hamilton can secure his sixth World Championship this weekend in Mexico, edging ever closer to Michael Schumacher's record of seven. Hamilton's former teammate Jenson Button believes the Brit will stop at nothing to achieve the record.
Hamilton has won the last two World Championships and he is well on course to add to the titles he won in 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. If he beats his teammate Valtteri Bottas by 14 points in Mexico the Brit will secure a third straight title and his sixth in total.
Jenson Button partnered Hamilton during their time at McLaren and the Brit believes Hamilton will stop at nothing to hold the record.
"It was terribly difficult to beat him, but if it worked out, it would be very special," Button told Sky Sports F1.
"He will do everything to break Michael Schumacher's records and logically. If you are in such a car then you do not just get out.
"If I am offered a place, I will no doubt sit in it and return to Formula 1. If Lewis would float in the middle bracket, he would have stopped already."
