"If he can also drive for Ferrari, he is a complete legend"
Lewis Hamilton continues to deny interest in joining Ferrari, but many still believe it will be the icing on the cake for the most successful British Formula 1 driver. Jacques Villeneuve is one of those who suggests Hamilton will be secretly interested in wearing red in the final chapters of his F1 career.
"Lewis pursues all the records of Michael Schumacher and I think a place at Ferrari can be the crowning glory of his work. With a seventh title, he not only catches up with Schumacher but if he can also drive for Ferrari afterwards, he is completely a legend," says Villeneuve at Sky Italia.
Hamilton has one year left on his current Mercedes contract and in that time he will be putting all of his energy into attempting to win his seventh world championship. During the United States Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton said he'll be switching his focus to 2021 at some point during the year indicating that he will stay in F1.
Hamilton turns 35 in January but Kimi Raikkonen might be creating a path for the current world champion to walk down.
