Vettel and Leclerc a "dilemma" according to Luca Montezemolo
- Tom Mason
Former Ferrari president Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has said that choosing between Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc as the main driver for the team moving forward is a real dilemma. Leclerc is currently in 3rd place in the drivers' standings, 19 points ahead of his teammate Vettel with two races remaining.
"Choosing between Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc is a real dilemma for Ferrari, " Montezemolo told speedweek.com
"I used to do it that way - one driver was scheduled for the title, the other was supposed to score so many extra points that we could win the constructors' trophy.
"We had Michael Schumacher and by his side Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa."
Leclerc is in his debut season for Ferrari but has already won two races, winning back to back in Spa and Monza, while Vettel's only win this season came in Singapore.
