Verstappen underlines importance of qualifying in Brazil
- Tom Mason
The F1 grid heads to Brazil next weekend for the penultimate race of the season and Max Verstappen knows just how important qualifying is due to the difficulties to overtake in the race.
The 22-year-old is fourth in the drivers' standings currently heading into the final couple of races, 14 behind Charles Leclerc in third.
"The qualifications are pretty important there because overtaking in the race is not that easy, " as quoted by F1 only.
"The track is also quite difficult for the tires, so be sure to manage them well throughout the race.
"As we have already seen in 2016, it can also be very bad. "
"In Brazil, there are still so many fans who live and breathe for F1. It is always a pleasure to see that because it creates a good atmosphere. "
The Dutchman enjoyed a strong Brazilian Grand Prix in 2018, coming in second, behind Lewis Hamilton.
