Rubens Barrichello says Max Verstappen is "very popular" in Brazil.
Rubens Barrichello says that Max Verstappen's race in Brazil was "ten out of ten" as he took pole and the win, with his battle against Lewis Hamilton one of the best of the season. Verstappen took his third win of 2019 and eighth overall and made up for 2018, when he lost the win in a controversial clash with backmarker Esteban Ocon.
Verstappen was visibly frustrated after the events of 2018, but he put it right with a terrific performance this year, and was in a league of his own as he dominated the field.
The Brazilian fans were clearly entertained by Verstappen's battle with Hamilton, and former Ferrari driver Barrichello has praised the Dutchman.
He told De Telegraaf: "Max is an aggressive driver.
"People think he's crazy. He is also very outspoken. He says what he thinks. His weekend in Brazil was ten out of ten.
"It all makes him a very popular driver in Brazil."
