Hamilton and Bottas pay tribute to Petronas
2019 saw Mercedes romp to a sixth consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' Championship double, Lewis Hamilton comfortably winning his sixth drivers' title. Mercedes had an opportunity to visit one of their main sponsors, Petronas and they paid tribute to their work.
Lewis Hamilton won 11 races on his way to a third title in as many years and his fifth in a Mercedes car. Valtteri Bottas also enjoyed his most successful season as an F1 driver, winning four races as he secured P2 in the Drivers' Championship.
Mercedes recently had the chance to visit their main title sponsor, Petronas in Kuala Lumpur and their drivers paid tribute to the work they do.
"We've been very fortunate to be able to come out to Kuala Lumpur quite a few times now over the last years to celebrate our joint success with everyone at PETRONAS - it shows you how strong this partnership is," Lewis Hamilton said.
“There are so many people here who directly or indirectly contributed to it, so coming to the PETRONAS Twin Towers is a great opportunity for us to say thank you for all the hard work and all the dedication that has gone into this success behind the scenes."
"We've had a great day here at PETRONAS. Our colleagues gave us a very warm, very energetic welcome and it's fantastic to see that they share our enthusiasm for racing," Valtteri Bottas added.
“Thank you very much to everyone at PETRONAS for the continuous support, for all the passion and dedication that goes into finding even more performance for our car. Let's keep pushing together."
