Aston Martin Red Bull Racing have admitted that they are confident that Max Verstappen will sign a new deal with the team. This comes despite talk that the Dutchman may move to Mercedes, in a switch which may have implacations on other drivers' futures
Verstappen has eight wins to date and finished third in the 2019 drivers' championship only behind the two Mercedes drivers.
The Silver Arrows have claimed all 12 F1 titles since 2013, Red Bull were the last team to win a title away from Mercedes.
"He's very happy in this team, and we love having him within the team," Christian Horner told Sky Sports.
"He fits very well here. "It's down to us to give him a competitive car next year."
Lewis Hamilton has a possibility of joining Ferrari, who hopes to persuade the Brit to move ahead of the 2021 season.
"Ultimately when the music stops, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see everybody in the same seats.
"Lewis is pretty happy in his environment, and Max is happy in his environment.
"So if they're sitting in competitive cars next year, why would they swap? Why would they move?"
