Hamilton reflects on Rossi seat swap
Everyone is used to see Lewis Hamilton in the cockpit of a Formula 1 car but the Brit has taken to two wheels, taking part in a seat-swap with Moto GP star, Valentino Rossi.
Hamilton wrapped up his sixth Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship in 2019, adding to his four other titles with Mercedes and his first F1 title with McLaren all the way back in 2008. Valentino Rossi meanwhile has mastered Moto GP, winning seven titles and achieving 89 race wins but finished 7th in the 2019 season.
Hamilton is a big fan of motorbikes and a seat-switch had been mooted for a long time. Fans finally got their chance to see the worlds collide when the pair swapped places in Valencia.
“It’s so awesome to see a legend like Valentino in the car,” said Hamilton said as quoted by Motorsport.
"I’m excited for him, for discovering the car for the first time. [It] reminds me of my first time in an F1 car.
"When you see all the team around you, it’s just a different animal."
On his time on the motorbike, Hamilton added: “It was so cool to be out on track and see Valentino ahead of me on the same bike.”
