Haas add their name to list of cars who have passed the 2020 FIA crash test
In just over a month, Formula 1 will return to the track ahead of the 2020 season. Before any car is allowed to race, the teams have to pass a crash safety test and three teams have now completed the FIA's test. Racing Point and Ferrari have already passed the test and Haas have now joined the list of cars allowed to race next season.
The Haas VF-20 was put through a series of crash tests and the FIA have deemed the car safe enough to race, meaning that the team are bang on schedule ahead of pre-season testing in Barcelona at the end of February.
Romain Grosjean can't wait for the new season and is looking forward to driving his new car.
"I am really looking forward to trying it out," the Frenchman told foreign media. “I think we will fit the seat soon, so I can also see the chassis. I will spend some time at the factory in England so that I can study the drawings well."
Passing the crash test is not an easy process as Alfa Romeo proved a few weeks ago when they failed the test. The team has been forced to return to the drawing board and will hope that their new design meets the requirements.
