Leclerc "happy" with progress made during first F1 season at Ferrari
Charles Leclerc is "happy" with the progress he has made as an individual driver in his first season at Ferrari. The 22-year-old got a promotion to the front of the grid after completing his debut season. He went on to beat his four-time world champion teammate Sebastian Vettel in the world championship.
Leclerc picked up plenty of experience during the year. He had to face team order battles, the added pressure of being a Ferrari driver and set-backs in the early races. Perhaps most importantly, Leclerc became the first Ferrari driver to win their home race since 2010.
Leclerc takes a look back at his first season but says it's all about putting it together and using the skills he has developed in the 2020 Formula 1 season.
“Seven pole positions, 10 podiums and two victories, I would have definitely been happy if you have told me I will do that in my first season with Ferrari. So [I’m] happy with this first season but now it’s only a matter of putting everything together next year, doing less mistakes and then hopefully a better 2020," Leclerc is quoted by RaceFans.net.
