Steiner confident Haas can get "back to where we were in 2018"

After the worst year in the team's short history in Formula 1, Haas team boss Guenther Steiner said he's confident his side can bounce back to the heights they were at back in 2018 when they finished fifth in the constructors' championship.
After finishing eighth in their first two years of being on the F1 grid, Haas found an extra gear in 2018 as they fought Renault all year for fourth place, eventually finishing just behind the French works team in fifth.
To the surprise of many, Haas followed that up with their worst-ever year in F1 as the American side finished ninth with just Williams behind them in the standings. They were 29 points behind number eight Alfa Romeo as well, underlining just how poor their year was.
While Steiner previously identified where things went wrong for his team, he is also confident Haas will bounce back this year.
“I'm very confident that we will be back to where we were in 2018, or very similar [in 2020]," he told the Formula 1's official website.
"You can never say, as the other teams have a say as well. But we went back to work the way we worked before and that gives me the confidence we can get it done.”
