Felipe Massa on Sebastian Vettel's career and what the future holds for Ferrari
Sebastian Vettel came under a lot of pressure from his teammate Charles Leclerc in 2019 and will be hoping for a more successful 2020. His future in the sport is under question and former driver Felipe Massa believes that Ferrari will wait until the end of the season before giving him a new contract.
"Ferrari will analyze Sebastian Vettel closely this year," Massa said to Motorsport-Total.com. "Based on that analysis, they will decide whether they want to keep it for the coming year or not. We will have to wait until the season starts to have an idea of what the future looks like.”
Will Vettel stay as a number two driver?
"He now has a long-term contract and has proven that he is the future of the team," he said.
Massa spent a lot of time in his career building Ferrari but ultimately became the second driver at the team to Fernando Alonso. We will have to see if Vettel would be happy to continue in a second driver role.
