Lewis Hamilton has made a "logical continuation" ahead of the 2020 season
Lewis Hamilton is only focused on himself as he looks to continue to build on last season's success. The six-time world champion is looking forward to the start of the season and believes that his Mercedes will be faster and more competitive than ever.
"After a while, you will notice how people make us favorites every year," said Hamilton at a press conference that included GPblog.com. The Brit believes, for example, that Ferrari has a low expectation: "They do this to be able to exceed expectations. Some think it's a psychological war, but it really isn't. Only for those who are weak in the head."
Furthermore, Hamilton admits that he is enormously focused on the team and himself: "I don't look at anyone else during testing. We focus on our own tasks and I honestly have no idea what the others are doing."
Hamilton believes that the Mercedes package is faster than last year and that things are looking good for 2020.
"Our car is better than last year," he said. "But I'm sure it's the same for everyone. It's an evolution. We are all busier. It feels like the logical continuation of what we had last year."
Hamilton has the chance to equal Michael Schumacher's all-time driver world championship record and will hope that his car is fast enough to be able to put him in a position to achieve this.
