Haas and Gunther Steiner are in the spotlight during the Netflix series 'Drive to Survive', but not always in a positive sense. Gene Haas doesn't want to stay in the sport forever and the F1 drivers for Haas have noticed that too.

''Gene has been very clear from the start that he came in here with one goal: to put Haas Automation further on the map. He also loves racing, but there are very few people within Haas who have enjoyed the 2019 season'', says Romain Grosjean to Canal+.

Grosjean is not worried

The question whether Haas will stay in F1 longer is therefore a logical one according to the Frenchman. ''It is annoying when an owner who is not honest. Someone who insists that he wants to stay in F1, but then suddenly pulls the plug. Gene will not surprise us negatively and will always be honest'', Grosjean says.

He doesn't seem to worry about the future of the team. ''The mechanics may be a bit more worried than I am, but as a team we know we just have to get going. If Gene pulls the plug there will probably be people ready to support this successful team'', concludes Grosjean, who indicates that performance is the first thing that must improve.
