The Formula 1 season may be at a standstill for a while, but that doesn't stop Haas from making a new statement. The American race team has announced the two reserve drivers for the coming season.

Louis Deletraz and Pietro Fittipaldi will be the reserve riders of the U.S. team in 2020, replacing Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean, should one of them not be fit for a race weekend. Guenther Steiner would have liked to announce this in Australia, but because of the coronavirus it went a bit different than planned.

Two unproven talents

Fittipaldi is the grandson of Formula 1 legend Enzo Fittipaldi and was born for motorsports. In 2017 he will take his biggest title so far, with the World Series Formula V8 3.5 title. Beyond his well-known name, however, he hasn't been able to draw attention to himself with any special performances, but he has been attracting the Haas overalls since 2019.

Deletraz is now a purified name in the step-up class prior to Formula 1. With a title in the Eurocup Formula 2.0 NEC, he takes an important title, but does not know how to continue it. Three seasons in Formula 2 won't give him any victory and a best ranking in 2019 as number eight. In 2020 he goes on repeat for the Charouz team.
