'Alfa Romeo fourth F1 team to send staff on furlough'
- GPblog.com
In recent weeks, three F1 teams (McLaren, Williams and Racing Point) have indicated that they are sending staff on furloughs to keep costs as low as possible. All this is related to the coronavirus. Formula 1 itself has also sent staff on furlough. According to Blick, Alfa Romeo Racing has now also decided to send staff home on furlough. The team in Switzerland has already taken measures to keep the costs as low as possible.
According to the Swiss newspaper, the team has already decided to use shorter working days for the employees. The factory, which employs 500 people, is prepared for longer weeks and serious measures are most likely to come. Alfa Romeo's factories have already been closed due to the FIA's arrangement, which now takes a total of 35 days due to the two-week extension.
Not yet the end
After the postponement of the Grand Prix in Canada, the Grand Prix in France is now next on the calendar, but the expectation that that race will continue is not great. France has been locked up for some time now, which not only endangers the Grand Prix, but also the Tour de France. Both events would be in the weekend of June 26th.
