Charles Leclerc has to choose between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Who does he prefer to race against? A difficult choice, Verstappen and Hamilton are currently the two strongest drivers on the grid. However, the young Ferrari driver has a clever answer ready.
In conversation with Paul di Resta and Karun Chandhok, among others, in the Sky F1 Vodcast, the Monegask is presented with the choice between Verstappen and Hamilton. With whom does he prefer to fight on track? In a succinct way Leclerc says: "If I want to finish the race, I choose Lewis. But for fun and the excitement of wheel-to-wheel racing, I will go for Verstappen".
"Our battles are always exciting," continues the driver. "We both don't give each other anything on the track. Sometimes we're on the limit and we go over it."
Lewis intelligent through experience
Going into battle with Hamilton is significantly different according to the double GP winner. It is less dangerous to race with the Brit than with the Dutchman. Although Hamilton certainly is an aggressive driver.
"Lewis drives differently. He is very intelligent in his driving, you can see that on the circuit. I learn a lot from battles with Lewis. He knows exactly what he's going to do because of his experience. He's always very aggressive but also leaves enough room for his opponents."
"With his experience, he can just predict what kind of maneuver you're trying to pull."
