The Austrian Grand Prix seems to be the first race of the 2020 Formula 1 season and that has an important helper: Helmut Marko. According to the Minister of Sports in Austria, Red Bull plays a crucial role for the Red Bull Ring.
''I had contact with Marko only yesterday and then he talked extensively about the race in Spielberg. It is important for me to be able to follow the rules of the government and in the end it is up to them to approve it all'', says Werner Kogler to the Austrian ORF.
Austria wants a race
In addition, the minister let it be known that the government wants the race to continue. ''The rules now state that they have to be quarantined for two weeks when they enter the country, so once that's done, I see no reason to stop the race and I don't want that at all,'' says Kogler.
''I wouldn't even consider making a race impossible just like that. However, it is important that we don't give privileges to any events. If it can be done, it has to be done well in the end'', concludes the Minister of Austria.
