The coronavirus may have caused the subject to disappear into the background for a while, but Ferrari's competitors have not forgotten the now infamous deal with the FIA.

After Zak Brown has already announced that he expects openness about the deal between the FIA and Ferrari, Cyril Abiteboul now also joins the front. The so-called Ferrari gate came to light right after the winter test, when the FIA announced that there was a deal with Ferrari about the alleged foul play with the engine in 2019.

However, the FIA cannot reveal details through the deal, but the competition is not satisfied with that. ''It is still a point that must be made clear and I am exactly of the same opinion as Zak Brown'', says Abiteboul to Formula1.com. In fact, the lack of clarity makes it all very mysterious.

''We live in a world that is completely open and we do not go against anyone, but we simply demand openness. We know what exactly has been found to be illegal and what has been done about it. In the long run, we don't want to make the same mistake as Ferrari. As an engine supplier we want to be sure of that and that requires openness that we haven't had yet'', Abiteboul concludes.
