- GPblog.com
Sebastian Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of this year, so there will be room for a new driver. The two drivers mentioned are Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo and it turns out that the former Red Bull junior and Ferrari are very close to an autograph. The contract should be made official within 48 hours, according to Motorsport Italy.
Latest details
At the moment it is a matter of figuring out the details and when they are ready, the contract with Sainz would be officially presented. The primary reason for Ferrari to choose Sainz is because the driver is young, has experience and is cheap. It would be an excellent addition to Charles Leclerc, who will be the number one driver in that perspective.
According to Motorsport Italy, Sainz must inform Zak Brown quickly when he switches to Ferrari at the end of this year. Something that will most likely not fall well with Brown, because he and Andreas Seidl have made a contract offer for two years at McLaren after 2020.
If the report is indeed correct, we will soon hear if Ferrari has already completed its line-up for next year.
