Hülkenberg: "I have received offers for a comeback"
- Thierry Bakker
Former Formula 1 driver Nico Hülkenberg left Formula 1 through the back door last year, but it may not be the end of the popular German driver. Hulkenberg recently told in an interview that he has received offers for a comeback in Formula 1Kan morgen.
Last year Renault announced that Esteban Ocon would take over Nico's seat for this season, but according to the German, he also received offers from other teams for the current season. Hülkenberg states that the is still ''hungry'' to race.
"I have made a conscious choice to take this little break," Nico said to the Westdeutschen Zeitung. It is known that Haas offered him Romain Grosjean's seat last year, but there was also interest from the DTM.
If Formula 1 is no longer an option, Nico doesn't rule out a career in another racing class. "If there are no options in Formula 1, I will look around. After ten years in Formula 1, I have decided to take it easy for six months".
With an empty seat for 2021, the question is whether Renault will choose to bring back Hülkenberg or whether they will do everything they can to have Fernando Alonso make his comeback with the French team.
